S4R Sodium Electrode Forming Tool for Coin Cell Spacers

https://www.s4r.fr/web/image/product.template/201/image_1920?unique=80d8fdc

The S4R PTFE Sodium Electrode Forming Tool is designed to form sodium metal directly onto a spacer prior to coin-cell assembly. The tool is manufactured from PTFE and is available for nominal spacer diameters of Ø13 mm, Ø15.5 mm, and Ø15.8 mm.

The selected tool configuration must match the spacer diameter. Preparation and forming must be carried out under a dry inert atmosphere using clean and completely dry components. The tool acts solely as a forming aid and does not regulate or measure the force applied during use.

Due to the softness and tackiness of sodium metal, the formed electrode may adhere to the forming surface. Optional latex release discs are available to facilitate extraction. Their suitability should be assessed according to the laboratory’s contamination and material-compatibility requirements.

Technical Specifications

Product Specifications

Product Type
Sodium electrode forming tool
Tool Material
PTFE
Application
Forming sodium metal directly onto a spacer prior to coin cell assembly
Intended Use
Laboratory sodium electrode preparation for coin cells
Compatible Spacer Diameters
Ø13 mm, Ø15.5 mm, and Ø15.8 mm
Operating Environment
Dry inert atmosphere suitable for sodium preparation and handling
Use Limitations
Use only with the spacer diameter corresponding to the selected tool configuration. All components must be clean and completely dry. The tool acts solely as a forming aid and does not regulate or measure the applied force.
Optional Accessory
Latex release discs for easier extraction of the formed electrode
Extraction note: Due to the softness and tackiness of sodium metal, the formed electrode may adhere to the forming surface. Optional latex release discs are available to facilitate extraction. Their suitability should be assessed according to the laboratory’s contamination-control and material-compatibility requirements. Please contact S4R for further information.
Safety note: Sodium metal is highly reactive with moisture and air. Preparation, forming, extraction, and transfer operations must be carried out by trained personnel under a dry inert atmosphere, using clean and completely dry tools and the laboratory’s approved sodium-handling procedures.
