MCMB (MesoCarbon MicroBeads) graphite powder is a well-established anode material for lithium-ion battery research.

Produced from petroleum pitch or coal tar, MCMB features a spherical microbead morphology and a relatively low specific surface area, which helps reduce parasitic side reactions during charge–discharge cycling.

Thanks to its controlled particle size distribution and high carbon purity, MCMB is widely used in laboratory-scale Li-ion battery studies where stable electrochemical behavior and good first-cycle efficiency are required.
