Compact motorized tape casting coater for laboratory battery electrode preparation. Combines an adjustable coating speed with a heated vacuum bed to hold substrates in place during coating. Supplied with a 24 V DC vacuum pump and an 80 mm film applicator offering four fixed gaps: 50, 100, 150 and 200 µm.

Motorized tape casting with a heated vacuum bed

Prepare laboratory electrode coatings with adjustable applicator speed and a 190 × 90 mm vacuum bed heated up to 120 °C. The compact platform supports slurry coating on current collectors and other suitable substrates.

Supplied with a vacuum pump and a fixed-gap film applicator. Optional applicators provide additional gap settings and coating configurations.

Control the application parameters

Motorized drawdown

A 24 V DC brushless motor drives the pushing bar at an adjustable travel speed.

Vacuum hold-down

The micro-perforated aluminium alloy chuck holds the substrate against the bed during coating.

Heating up to 120 °C

Heating elements inside the vacuum bed are controlled by a digital temperature controller.

Applicator options

Choose the included fixed-gap applicator or an optional adjustable-gap or slot-die configuration.

Coating dimensions and reference accuracyThe vacuum chuck area, reference coating area and applicator width describe different parameters. The standard applicator provides a coating width of up to 80 mm; select the usable area to suit the substrate support and applicator. The gap setting and reference ±2 µm accuracy are not a guarantee of final dry-film thickness, which depends on the slurry and process conditions. The temperature-controller accuracy does not specify temperature uniformity across the bed.

Laboratory use

From slurry development to electrode coating

Designed for laboratory battery electrode preparation and the application of polymer or conductive ceramic coatings on suitable substrates.

Benchtop coating & drying

Use the heated bed and included top cover to support drying after coating. Operation under a fume hood is recommended. Select slurry preparation and subsequent drying conditions to suit the coating formulation.

Argon-glovebox integration

The coater supports use in an argon glovebox. An optional KF40 feedthrough is required for this installation. Check antechamber clearance and installation requirements for the complete setup before ordering.
