The S4R Natural Agate Grinding Balls are designed for laboratory grinding, milling, mixing and homogenization of solid samples.

Manufactured from natural agate, these grinding balls combine high hardness, good wear resistance and a smooth polished surface. They are suitable for use with agate grinding jars and other compatible laboratory milling containers.

A wide range of nominal diameters is available to accommodate different jar capacities, sample quantities and grinding requirements. The balls can be supplied in small sets, by weight or in selected assortments suitable for standard agate grinding jar capacities.

Due to the manufacturing process and the natural characteristics of agate, the actual ball diameter may vary slightly from the stated nominal diameter. The applicable dimensional tolerance depends on the selected ball size: larger grinding balls may present a variation of up to approximately ±1 mm, while smaller diameters are generally manufactured with tighter tolerances. Users requiring a specific diameter range or controlled dimensional tolerance should contact S4R before ordering.

Smaller grinding balls generally provide a greater number of contact points and are suitable for finer grinding operations, while larger balls provide greater impact energy. The appropriate diameter, quantity and combination of grinding balls depend on the jar capacity, sample characteristics, initial particle size and required grinding result.

As agate is a natural material, slight variations in color, pattern, banding, translucency and surface appearance may occur between individual balls. These natural variations do not affect their intended laboratory use.
