Micrometer Adjustable Film Applicator — Doctor Blade

Precision blade-gap control from 0 to 3500 µm for laboratory coating widths from 50 to 500 mm

Manual film applicator for controlled slurry drawdown in battery electrode, ceramic, polymer and functional coating research. Compact and extended-width architectures provide the appropriate number of adjustment points for each coating span.

Blade gap and coating thickness The micrometer setting defines the nominal mechanical clearance between the doctor blade and the substrate. Actual wet and dry film thickness also depends on slurry rheology, solids loading, coating speed, substrate properties and drying conditions.
Accuracy specification The stated ±2 µm value refers to the specified accuracy of the micrometer adjustment system and should not be interpreted as a guaranteed ±2 µm coating-thickness uniformity.
