Key features

Ready-formed cases for pouch-cell prototyping

The cavity is formed before delivery, reducing pouch preparation steps and providing repeatable geometries for laboratory battery assembly.

Pre-formed cavity

Supplied with the pouch cavity already formed for direct use in laboratory cell preparation.

113 µm laminate

PA / aluminum / PP multilayer construction combining mechanical protection, barrier performance and an inner sealing surface.

Multiple depths

Formed depths from 1 to 6 mm depending on the selected pouch-cell format.

Laboratory pack

Each configuration is supplied in packs of 50 formed cases for research, development and prototype-scale assembly.

Material architecture

PA / aluminum / PP multilayer construction

The 113 µm laminate combines an outer polyamide layer for mechanical protection, an aluminum barrier layer and an inner polypropylene surface for pouch-cell heat sealing.

The same laminate architecture is used across the formed S4R pouch-cell case range for consistency with laboratory pouch-cell fabrication workflows.

Laminate technical data

113 µm material performance

Reference technical test indices for the aluminum laminated material used to manufacture the formed pouch-cell cases.

PA / Al Peel Al / PP Peel Heat-Seal Strength Electrolyte Resistance
≥3.0 N/15 mm ≥12.0 N/15 mm ≥60 N/15 mm ≥7.0 N/15 mm

Values are reference technical test indices for the base laminate. The nominal finished case depth is defined by the selected formed geometry and should not be interpreted as the standardized forming test depth of the flat laminate.

Applications

For laboratory pouch-cell assembly

Ready-formed flexible packaging components for experimental pouch-cell development and small-batch battery prototyping.

Pouch-cell prototyping
Pre-formed cases reduce routine pouch-forming preparation during laboratory cell fabrication.
Cell assembly
Formed cavities accommodate the experimental electrode stack before final pouch sealing.
Battery research
Suitable for lithium-ion, sodium-ion and other compatible experimental pouch-cell systems.
Important information

Format selection, sealing and handling

Nominal formed depth Formed depth corresponds to the nominal cavity depth of the selected case geometry. The required depth should be selected according to the intended electrode stack and pouch-cell assembly design.
4662 format The 4662 configuration has a nominal 62 × 46 mm format and is available with formed depths from 1 to 6 mm.
85120 gas-pocket format The 85120 configuration uses a nominal 105 × 84 mm formed area produced from a 280 × 200 mm aluminum laminated film blank. It is supplied with an extended gas-pocket configuration and is available with formed depths from 3 to 6 mm.
Film orientation The PA layer forms the external surface of the pouch case, while the PP layer forms the internal cell-facing and heat-sealing surface.
Heat sealing Sealing temperature, pressure and dwell time should be established according to the sealing equipment, tab-sealing polymer and cell assembly process.
Electrolyte compatibility Compatibility should be validated for the intended electrolyte chemistry, operating temperature and test duration before use in a new battery system.
Handling Avoid scratching, sharply folding or damaging the formed cavity and sealing surfaces. Keep the PP sealing area clean before final pouch-cell assembly.
