The standard range is selected according to common laboratory furnace tube diameters from 25 to 130 mm. Plug diameter is intentionally smaller than the process-tube bore to allow straightforward insertion and removal. Because tube wall thickness and actual inner diameter can vary, the tube ID should be checked before selecting the plug size. Alternative plug diameters can be supplied where a different clearance is required.
