Cell Body

Original Swagelok PFA construction

The cell is built around an original Swagelok PFA body and Swagelok compression sealing components. PFA offers excellent chemical inertness and is suitable for a wide range of demanding electrochemical environments.

The body can be fully disassembled, allowing convenient sample installation, cleaning and replacement of the internal components.

Electrode Contacts

Interchangeable metallic plungers

The plungers provide electrical contact with the electrochemical stack while transmitting the mechanical load generated by the internal compression assembly.

Internal Compression

Spring-loaded compression and stack adjustment

The internal spring applies mechanical preload to the experimental stack and helps maintain contact between the electrodes, separator and metallic contact surfaces.

Removable spacers allow the internal assembly to be adjusted according to the thickness of the selected stack.

The spring and spacer arrangement can be adapted to different experimental configurations.

Sealing System

Swagelok compression ferrule sealing

Each side uses a Swagelok PFA compression nut and ferrule assembly. Tightening the nut compresses the ferrule around the plunger to create the mechanical seal.

Adjust its position according to the internal stack.

Compress the ferrule
Tighten the nut around the PFA ferrule assembly.

Secure the assembly
The cell remains accessible for subsequent disassembly.

Each metallic plunger includes a transverse 2 mm opening for compatible potentiostat leads or laboratory test cables.
